Things to do while Waiting for Service
After your final year examinations, you are expected to go home
and wait for your call up letter. To some people, it might take 6 months, 8
months, to some it might take years. During this period, do not make mistake of
whiling away your time at home eating and getting fat or scrubbing and moping
the house for your parents. Use this period as an opportunity to be fully
mature and totally independent in various areas of life. If you are a girl who
intends to get married after school but haven’t made a choice yet, take that
time to pray and search for your beloved.
Go out, meet people, visit your
friends and relations. Who knows, they might recommend you to a friend who
lives overseas. LOL. Am serious!! Let’s talk more. If you are a girl or a boy,
there are lots of things to do to prevent your mother from shouting at you at
every minute. Lets take a look at them.
1. Consider
Teaching: Yes. Teaching will do a lot of good. Apart from building your
self-confidence and act of public speaking, it will enlighten you on ways to
relate with children and your colleagues. It will develop your spiritual
capabilities such as you patience and tolerance, it will help you manage your
temper and moods and most especially, develop your intellectuals.
2. Develop
your skills: by skills here, I mean the things you can do except academics. You
could decide to engage yourself in computer training, sewing training, hair
dressing, mechanic works, knitting and making wools, bake all kinds of stuffs
and so much more.
3. Do
a lot of exercise: When you stay at home for too long, the tendency is that
people will begin to complain and say, “John, see how fat you are” or “John,
what is happening to your shape” and lots of other reproaches. In other to
prevent this, once you notice you are adding, go to the market and get some
exercising wears. Sign up for a Jim lesson or more or less, exercise within
your compound. Do some exercises like Running, Tummy trimming, Long Jump,
Badminton and so many others.
4. Travel
for fun if you can. At least, you will see the better part of the world.
5. Develop
yourself with novels and motivational books. This will help you in every works
of life. Read books about Christ, relationships, success, becoming a better you
and lots of things like that. This will enable you know how to realize your
potentials and know what you will do with your life.
Don’t Idle around your house and area, looking for what to say to
whom. Develop your potentials and achieve better things in life.
